On the 20th of June a group of students involved in the project went for a trip to Łancut Castle which is one of the most beautiful aristocratic residences in Poland. It is well-known for its amazing interiors as well as the collection of horse-drawn carriages. The building is surrounded by beautiful park designed in an English style where you can find many buildings which are connected with everyday life of this residence. The history of Łańcut starts in Medieval times. The founding of the town dates back to 1349 and is connected with the King Casmir the Great. The owners of Łańcut were the families of Pileckis, Stadnickis, Lubomirskis and Potockis.

The Castle was built by the order of Stanisław Lubomirski from 1629 – 1642, at that time it was modern residence of “palazzo in fortezza” type of residence that consisted of the main building with towers located at the corners. Later Isabella Czartoryska Lubomirska converted the residence into palace-park complex.

After the exciting but exhausting tour we took our students for ice-cream to the nearest cafeteria, next we strolled to the train station and went back to Rzeszow.

All the participants liked the trip and were happy to see this beautiful complex.
