One of the tasks within our project was to discover our local tourist attractions. On sunny May Thursday we have decided to go for a walk to the nature reserve “Lisia Góra”.
Lisia Góra is one of the best well- known tourist spots in Rzeszów. This reserve was set up at the end of 1998. It is located in the south-west part of the city by the river Wisłok. The altitude is around 200 meters above sea level. There are many oaks (some of them are 200 years old), some of the are nature monuments. The hill is surrounded by the meadows and in the lower parts you can find elder.
This reserve was formed to protect the precious natural monuments and it also has educational value. It helps to explain to young people the need to protect and look after old plant species.
Through the reserve there is educational path named after Władysław Szafer (world famous paleobotanist and nature saver who was strongly connected with the region of Rzeszow).
Tourists, who decide to walk through the path, apart from visiting Lisia Góra are able to see the Old Cementary, Olszynki – one of the city parks as well as dame where electricity is produced.
